Spectacular Platinum Jubilee celebrations at St Paul's Cathedral Something special's coming to St Paul's Cathedral. For centuries, the London landmark and working church has been a place of national celebration — and you'd better believe that it's got extra spectacular plans up its sleeve for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. To mark this unique occasion — Elizabeth II is the first ever British monarch to reign for 70 years and counting, so this really is an exceptional event — the Cathedral is hosting a special exhibition, an historic Service of Thanksgiving, fascinating educational workshops, and more. The fun begins on Wednesday 25 May with the launch of Jubilee: St Paul’s, the Monarch and the Changing World, continuing in June, across the four-day Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend, and into summer. 200 Years Of History This isn't St Paul's Cathedral's first time commemorating a Royal Jubilee, as visitors to its new exhibition will learn. Jubilee: St Paul's, the Monarch and the Changing World explores grand ceremonial occasions held here for four British monarchs: George III, Victoria, George V and Elizabeth II through a wealth of archival treasures, tracing social, political and technological changes across 200 years of British history along the way. |

Celebrating Togetherness On Friday 3 June — remember, that's a bank holiday this year — St Paul's Cathedral hosts a Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen's seven-decade reign. Expect bible readings, anthems, prayers and congregational hymns aimed at fostering togetherness and unity, including a new anthem by Judith Weir, Master of The Queen’s Music. |

Inspiration For Schools On top of bespoke, curriculum-linked workshops, St Paul's Cathedral is hosting a special outreach project for school children, inviting them to sing and record one of their favourite hymns, sharing on social media with the hashtag #ChoirfortheQueen. Local school children have shaped the aforementioned Jubilee exhibition too, contributing designs for commemorative tea towels. |
