Stan Shaw wants you to come on an adventure

I’m a Perth boy through and through.

Born at the old Subiaco hospital, I was at primary school in Maylands and high school in Kwinana.

But back in 2007, I packed up my family and left Perth for adventures in regional WA. I chased ABC work from Albany to Esperance and eventually back to Bunbury.

But after years of dragging the kids around the state, I was offered the opportunity to tackle the ABC Perth Breakfast program – a dream too good to knock back.

Two months back in the big smoke and I have rediscovered my love of Perth.

The city has had immense change in the past decade and the place is buzzing more than ever.

And this week I learnt that at over 150 kms in length, Perth is the longest city in the world!

So, I am packing up the Breakfast team for another adventure – this time a four-day road trip from one end of this city to the other. I’ll pose the question where does Perth start and end?

Stan Shaw, ABC Radio Perth Breakfast presenter and art enthusiast, went down to Cottesloe Beach to admire Sculpture by the Sea. And while art is always open to interpretation, Stan was, suffice to say, a little off the mark. He met some the artists behind some of the amazing sculptures.
