Macalester welcomes its first Latina president this summer. Suzanne Rivera will become the first woman and first Latina to lead the nationally known St. Paul liberal arts school. “I think we need to create immigration policies that allow U.S. universities to attract talent from all over the world,” Rivera said in an interview. Rivera will be Macalester’s 17th president, replacing retiring president Brian Rosenberg.

Amy Klobuchar says she’s not aware of questionable evidence in a black teen case. Klobuchar was the lead prosecutor of the 2002 case of Myon Burrell, who was sentenced to life in the killing of an 11-year-old girl. A recent investigation indicates much of what the AP found in Burrell’s case would’ve been available to her office at the time. "I didn't know about this new evidence until I saw the report," Klobuchar told Fox News when asked about allegations the teen may have been wrongfully convicted.
