View in browser | hyperallergic.comJuly 28, 2020Letter from the editor: As we're entering our fifth month of lockdown in New York City for the Coronavirus Pandemic, it's been a difficult period of adjustment for all of us. I haven't seen most of our staff for months, even if we correspond frequently together online. Still, we continue to work hard to bring you the stories that matter during this difficult time. During these last few months, Hyperallergic has quickly transitioned from being a predominantly ad-supported publisher to one that now relies increasingly on member contributions. We are thankful for the amazing response over the first few months which has allowed us to keep the lights on to continue publishing reports, reviews, and essays. So, if you haven't joined us as a member yet, this is another reminder that we need your support. We are encouraged and excited by this shift to membership as it allows us to connect directly with our community while also offering the financial stability our team needs to continue their work. If you are able to contribute and join us, today is a great day to become a member of Hyperallergic and support an independent voice in the arts that rejects the hierarchies of the art market or the taste(lessness) of corporate collectors, and sticks up for the workers in the art community. Also, can you believe UPenn still had a collection of skulls of enslaved people on display? Not anymore.
