DDeflected: How to become bulletproof If you’re walking alone and somebody shoots you, that’s usually the end of your story. It can be difficult to call for help or react after a bullet wound, and nobody in their right mind wears a bulletproof vest all the time. But what if a bulletproof vest wasn’t actually the best way to protect against gunshot wounds? Take, for example, the story of one woman from Canada who was shot in the heart during a mugging and survived. She wasn’t wearing any protective covering, and there was a clear wound visible from the outside. The reason: her breast implants! Apparently, the implants were strong enough to deflect the bullet away from her heart — and her right implant actually caught the bullet itself. According to the doctors, had the implants not been present, she probably wouldn’t have made it. Maybe her surgeon should work in national security... You know what else is surprisingly resistant to being shot? An Apple iMac, of course! Tap or click to see how an iMac handles fire from an anti-tank rifle. → |
