See how to trade the market’s “Rush Hour” for next-day payouts Stock Picks for a Resilient Market — Where the Smart Money Is MovingThe market has been grinding higher, inflation be darned. We’ve seen hotter-than-expected CPI and PPI numbers, yet stocks refuse to roll over. The S&P 500 is near all-time highs, the Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) is closing in on its own, and even the Russell 2000 is starting to wake up. But the big story isn’t just the indexes — it’s where money is rotating. While the Magnificent Seven stocks have been chopping around, we’re seeing strength in some overlooked areas. Smart money isn’t just piling into tech anymore. It’s diversifying. Financials and Utilities Are Holding Up Financials (XLF) have been strong since bottoming in January. The sector is up nearly 10% off those lows, showing steady accumulation. When banks and financial institutions are holding up, it’s a sign that markets aren’t pricing in major economic stress just yet. Utilities (XLU) is another sector that’s been quietly gaining. These stocks don’t get the headlines, but they’ve climbed around 7% from their recent lows. If we see a continued shift into defensive sectors, it could be a clue that big money is preparing for higher volatility ahead. Energy and Consumer Staples Are in Play Energy (XLE) has been volatile, but oil prices are holding firm. The sector hasn’t fully broken out, but it’s worth watching as crude oil stabilizes. Consumer Staples (XLP) are also seeing steady demand. When the market gets shaky, money tends to flow into what people need rather than what they want. This sector isn’t flashy, but it’s quietly up about 7% off the lows. Stocks to Watch A few stocks are standing out based on recent moves. Intel (INTC) has been a name I’ve been watching, and I added to my position. If this one gets moving, it could have some room to run. Alibaba (BABA) is another name I took a buy order on. It’s still beaten down, but if China starts gaining momentum, this stock has upside potential. Snapchat (SNAP) and Coca-Cola (KO) both saw covered call trades for income. These aren’t high-flying growth names, but they’re good for portfolio stability. The market’s resilience is clear. The indexes may be flirting with highs, but the real story is in sector rotation. While the Magnificent Seven stocks still drive the headlines, the real opportunity could be in areas that have been overlooked. If this market keeps pushing higher, financials, utilities, energy, and consumer staples could be where the smart money is flowing next.
