Specifically, you might wonder – what is the MailPoet Sending Service? And why should you use it? But, above all – why is a sending service necessary in the first place?
The short answer is: the MailPoet Sending Service (and other sending services like it) helps your emails arrive in the inbox and not the spam box. In this post, we’ll walk through the basic concept of a sending service, explain how they work, and give you a behind-the-scenes look into the MailPoet Sending Service. |

Should You Use Subscription Pop-ups? | Pop-up subscription forms are everywhere. In 2018, it’s hard to visit a website that doesn’t have a jumping, flying, flashing pop-up subscription form.
The question is – is this a good trend? And should you add a pop-up to your own website? We investigate the answer in this post. |

GDPR: Incoming The European Union is implementing legislation at the end of May to improve and standardize how companies handle users’ identifiable data (email address, IP, etc.). This legislation is called the General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR for short.
Users will be able to request any European company to share the personal data they collect on their users. Users can also request to be forgotten. In other words, identifiable data can be anonymized.
This is good news for everyone, not just Europeans!
As a website owner, you also need to abide to these rules if you have European users or visitors. WordPress is currently working on implementing tools for GDPR in an upcoming release in May. These tools also extend to plugins (which includes MailPoet.) That means you won't have to do anything special to be GDPR-compliant.
As for MailPoet, the company, we will be publishing a Privacy Notice. You will know exactly what identifiable data we hold, where it is located and how you can access it. |

From the Archives How to Be a Dedicated Madman: Writing Advice from Ray Bradbury | “Just write everyday of your life. Then see what happens.” So said Ray Bradbury, author of Fahrenheit 451, The Illustrated Man and over 25 other novels and 600 short stories. Largely known for his impact on the science fiction genre, he was unquestionably one of the most productive writers of the twentieth century. One of the keys to his success, no doubt, was his intense dedication, or as he put is, “being a dedicated madman.”
In this post, we’ll examine his work habits and practices which enabled Bradbury to be so productive. We’ll also look at other writers and entrepreneurs and the results of their dedication to their work. |

| WordPress is almost 15 years old! If you’re interested in throwing a “birthday” party, check out WordPress.org’s guide to hosting your own event. How much is a word worth? In this editorial on Medium, Malcolm Harris traces the declining pay rates of freelance writers from the early 1900s to today. When there is an audience, performance improves. At least, according to a new study by a Johns Hopkins University neuroscientist. People often think performing in front of others will make them mess up, but the study found the opposite: being watched makes people do better. Gmail is changing in a big way. Google is redesigning its main product to include smart replies, greater offline access, expiring emails and improved safety features. Read more at The Guardian. | Kiefer and the MailPoet Team |
