Do rooftop season right at Florattica

A good rooftop bar needs two things: decent drinks and quality views. A great one goes a step further: think expertly-mixed cocktails, iconic landmarks in your line of sight, and a bit of a twist — say, for example, an incredible floral canopy that might just the be the prettiest ceiling we’ve ever seen.

We’re talking, of course, about Florattica. Perched on the 11th floor of Canopy by Hilton City, this oasis is open year-round (it’s got showstopping interiors with floor-to-ceiling windows AND a wrap-around terrace with views towards St Paul’s Cathedral and Square Mile skyscrapers), but it really comes into its own in the warmer months.

The bar’s just unveiled its new summer cocktail menu which reimagines timeless classics through a botanical lens, using seasonal ingredients. Take the tropical El Mojicano, for example, which blends rum with basil and lime cordial, and coconut water. We’re also itching to try Echoes of Smyrna, featuring champagne, mandarin liqueur, and hibiscus cordial.

Pair your tipple of choice with seasonal à la carte dishes, or join Florattica at the weekend for brunch on the terrace, complete with live music and a laid-back atmosphere. Whether you’re after golden hour cocktails or a leisurely afternoon in a sun trap, this venue delivers seven days a week.

Like mother like daughter?

Four-time Olivier Award-winner Imelda Staunton (The Crown) joins forces with her real-life daughter Bessie Carter (Bridgerton) for a major revival of Mrs Warren’s Profession. They play an estranged mother and daughter in George Bernard Shaw’s incendiary, ahead-of-its-time classic which critiques the social order of late Victorian Britain.
