| Summer Hikes, Packable Lunches, and Wraps |

Last weekend Merri Ann and I went hiking with our 9-year old granddaughter, Anna. It was delightful. Anna and Merri Ann took pictures of flowers and landscapes. We explored seldom used trails and climbed a rocky outcropping to overlook the canyon.
When we got back, Anna's family decided that they want to go this Saturday. Super! We'll pack a lunch and throw in some marshmallows for the kids to roast. We'll keep the perishables cool in insulated lunch bags packed with ice packs.
This is what I'm thinking for a menu: Crackers and cheese. I'll choose a wax enclosed Gouda. The wax pack will protect it from rough handling and bacteria. Either a pasta or a potato salad. The mayonnaise will be safe as longs as we keep the bags cold.Sandwich wraps. Unlike bread, the tortillas can take a beating. Fruit, either apples or oranges.
