Summer league concludes: Collin Sexton's summer exhibition with the Cavaliers ended Monday night vs. the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer league semifinals. It came with an exciting conclusion, a 112-109 overtime loss in which the rookie point guard had a chance to elevate Cleveland past the undefeated Los Angeles team. Sexton scored 27 points. Josh Hart led the Lakers with 37. Read more.

Pluto's scribbles: It appears the Cavaliers made the right move by selecting Collin Sexton at No. 8, writes Plain Dealer columnist Terry Pluto. The Alabama point guard has continued to improve during the two weeks playing in Las Vegas. He has tremendous straight-line speed. He especially drives well with his left hand. That will be an advantage as most defenders are conditioned to guard players against driving to their right side -- because most players are right-handed. Read more.

Renovations continue: The Cavaliers, including some team legends, Mayor Frank Jackson and several dozen kids from Ward 7 on Monday celebrated the refurbished gymnasium floor at the Sterling Recreation Center on East 32nd Street. The celebration was the third at a Cleveland rec center as a result of a deal between the city and the Cavaliers for upgrades at Quicken Loans Arena, writes cleveland.com's Robert Higgs. Read more.

Frye returns to Cleveland: Channing Frye, a fan favorite and one of the key members of the Cavaliers' 2016 championship team, is coming back on a one-year deal. Read more.

Sexton the bridge to post-LeBron Cavs: With his performance in Vegas, Sexton has shown plenty of potential. Will he emerge as the Cavs' franchise centerpiece?
