| Dear , As 2021 draws to a close, I know many of us are reflecting on a year of challenge and change and wondering what 2022 has in store.  This has been a big year for me personally. My pandemic baby celebrated his first birthday in August and, after a wonderful year-long maternity leave, I returned to full-time work overseeing what I jokingly call my other baby: Canadian Geographic’s website.
Following a lengthy consultation and design process that began in the spring, our developers are busy putting the finishing touches on our brand new site, which we expect to launch early in 2022. The site will feature the same quality storytelling and incredible imagery you expect from Canadian Geographic, but with a fresh, modern look and new features to enhance the user experience and help us surface the most relevant content from our extensive archive.
But the work doesn’t stop once the site goes live. Our editorial team is already planning an exciting lineup of feature stories for next year; with your support, we’ll be able to present this content in a dynamic digital format, with video, audio and interactive elements to help bring the subject matter to life and reach more people. In this time of climate change and global biodiversity loss, it’s more important than ever that we are able to amplify the voices and vision of our talented roster of writers, photographers, filmmakers and podcasters and show Canadians, and the world, that what we have here is worth protecting.
