Together—a people, a city, an arts community—we know the arts are vital to building back better.
We’re back. Back with thousands of attendees at our 100-event festival. Back with dozens of local arts orgs and businesses for the Lit Crawl. Back with 40 public school classrooms-worth of students at Kidquake. Back to retirement homes helping elderly writers build lasting, creative communities through our Elder Project. All of them (and us) are asking you to give today.
Last year, we hosted 500 writers, 100 events, 100-some writing classes strong. Nearly everything in-person, face-to-beautiful face. Nearly everything for free. Continuing to reinvigorate and reinvent the Litquake you’ve come to know, we’ve emerged changed, still changing. Like all of you, we know what it’s still like out there in the city. Like San Francisco, we’re working towards revitalization. Together—a people, a city, an arts community—we know the arts are vital to building back better. The power of stories. Writing. Expression. The power of what an Elder Project student said about reconnecting with her creativity: “It’s as if the ‘inside’ me has just arrived.”
