Under the tagline “The future is ours”, the EYE 2021 will bring together thousands of young people at the European Parliament in Strasbourg (and online) on 8-9 October to shape and share their ideas on the future of Europe.
This event is a unique opportunity for 16 to 30 year olds to inspire each other and exchange their views with experts, activists, influencers and Members of the European Parliament, right in the heart of European democracy.
Just like in 2018, the Youth Group of Unconditional Basic Income Europe (UBIE) has once again been selected to host a workshop on “policies for a fairer economy” during the EYE 2021. Our workshop, which will include raising awareness about Basic Income to participants from some of the most prominent youth organisations in Europe, was selected among over 260 proposals! We have gathered a team of 20 young basic income enthusiasts from all over Europe to represent UBIE at the event.
However, the funding we will receive from the European Parliament is only enough to partially cover our participation costs, and would thus exclude less well-off participants. In the spirit of UBI, we believe that young people should be allowed to join this group regardless their own financial resources.
Therefore, we ask you to support the voice of youth for Basic Income – any amount you can donate counts!
If the funds we will raise with your help exceed the total cost of our expenses, any excess amount will be divided equally among the participants of the UBIE delegation in the form of a UBI! That way we can honor their efforts in representing the call for Basic Income in the most important event of the EU for youth in a way that symbolises our common cause.
