We must reform a system that allowed so many criminals to enter the country, while at the same time, making it challenging for those who simply want a better life and to contribute to the American economy to become citizens.

An American president doesn’t get to campaign on a platform of non-intervention in foreign affairs and a pulling back of our military forces overseas and then suddenly float an idea about a massive deployment of U.S. troops — in Gaza, of all places — and then expect a pass from the American people and the opinions of world leaders about the wild contradiction.

Talk about timing.

There are plenty of reasons to want to see someone other than Gavin Newsom to serve as governor of California. Fortunately, he’s termed out and Californians will be able to vote next year on his successor. So why are people wasting their time on another recall effort?
