Christmas Angel Workshop

Add a piece of your heart to the Christmas tree this year and create a beautiful no-sew Christmas Angel ragdoll from upcycled materials.  BYO scissors. Material will be provided but if you’d like to use your own, please bring it along. Suitable for kids aged 8+

DIY Skincare Workshop



 



Time: 10.00 - 11.00am

Cost: $10

You can make a gift that keeps on giving, learn about homemade cosmetics as a natural and cost effective alternative to store-bought products. There will be a short presentation before participants get to make two natural skincare products: deodorant, toothpaste and/or body scrub. Learn from wastewise living expert, Lindsay Miles of Treading My Own Path, how to look after your skin the natural way and make some beautiful eco-friendly gifts!

Christmas Furoshiki Wrapping Workshop



Time: 10am – 12 noon

Cost: $5

Create gorgeous gifts that give joy from just looking at them, let your present stand out this festive season. Come along and learn how wrap different shaped and sized Christmas gifts from a piece of Furoshiki fabric, along with making everyday shopping and carry bags.
 
All the Furoshiki is provided to use for each participant for the purpose of learning (not to take home sorry).
 
Please bring the following items on the day: 
  • 2 same size empty wine bottles
  • 2 same size tissue boxes (rectangle)
  • Any objects you would like to learn how to wrap with Furoshiki

DIY Advent Calendars and Wreaths

Advent calendars help create family traditions, make your own calendar that lasts a lifetime. Please bring along fabric scraps in your favourite Christmas colours, fabric that holds value to you and other bric-a-brac to add a personal touch. Please BYO needle, cotton, scissors and a wire coat hanger then come along and create some magic.

Macrame Workshop




Time: 2.30pm – 4pm

Cost: $10

Make a striking macramé wall hanging with local artist Sam Pace from Threaded Wall. Using sustainable, recycled t-shirt yarn you will be guided through the skill of knot tying to complete your own piece of art on a wooden hanger, ready to gift to a friend or relative. If you prefer the rustic look, you can bring along a stick/branch to use as a hanger.

DIY Beeswax Wraps Workshop




Time: 2.30 – 4pm

Cost: $10

Beeswax wraps are a fun, natural, compostable and a safe alternative to plastic cling wrap. Learn how to make beautiful, reusable and natural food wraps in this workshop by Aline from Green Skills. Each participant will come away with two beeswax wraps and the skills to make plenty more.
This crafty workshop is suitable for teens and adults.
