So many people are choosing to cook and bake with honey during the pandemic! Here are our favourite tips when cooking and baking with honey. We all know that honey is sticky! When using BeeMaid in your recipe, here is a simple tip to help you get the most our of your honey measurements. Spray your measuring cup or spoon with non-stick spray. Then, measure out the BeeMaid Honey and watch how easily it pours out! If you're replacing honey with sugar in your recipe, it's not a one to one ratio! Honey has a higher sweetening power than sugar. This means you can use less honey than sugar to achieve the desired sweetness. Be sure to consult our honey converter (www.beemaid.com/honey-converter) as it provide valuable information about how to reduce the liquid in your recipe and reduce the oven temp. If you like to weigh your ingredients when baking, 1 cup of honey will weigh 12 ounces or 340 grams. Honey is the perfect ingredient to use when making sauces, puddings, pastries and cakes because honey's viscosity gives it an amazing ability to bind ingredients together. If you use honey when grilling or frying meat, honey can be hard to brush directly onto the meat itself. Make sure you mix BeeMaid with another liquid like a juice or oil. Orange or pineapple juice are terrific pairings with honey as they work as a natural tenderizer to whatever meat you're working with! |
