The No. 1-ranked LSU baseball team has one last series to end the regular season, starting Thursday at South Carolina. The early start — all eight SEC series are beginning Thursday because of next week's SEC Tournament — has prompted coach Jay Johnson to shake up his pitching rotation to give staff aces Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson their proper rest. Anderson, you may recall, came out of last Friday's game against Arkansas with a wrist issue, though Johnson has continued to say he's fine. Who pitches for LSU? That's a bit of a mystery. Here are all the details on the game that we know right now. The series of course will pit LSU against former coach Paul Mainieri. In my column I write that Mainieri's first season at South Carolina has gone so poorly (27-26, 5-22 SEC) that he runs the risk of tarnishing his hall of fame reputation. The LSU women's basketball team appeared to have completed its major roster overhaul. Replacing players in the frontcourt will go a long way to determining the Tigers' fortunes during the 2025-26 season. Former LSU center T-Bob Hebert (how many of you forgot or didn't know T-Bob once played football for the Tigers?) is leaving his morning show with Jacob Hester for a new radio gig that will take him to Chicago. We've got more details here. From the basketball court to the legal-type court, former LSU women's basketball player Last-Tear Poa is pressing ahead with her case to try to make NIL benefits permissible for foreign athletes. Our Toyloy Brown brings us this feature on LSU sprinter Jaiden Reid heading into the SEC Outdoor Championships starting Thursday in Lexington, Kentucky. Finally, the LSU men's golf team never got over its struggles and missed the cut to advance to the NCAA Championships despite being the top seed in the NCAA Amherst (Virginia) Regional. That's all for today, folks. Thanks for reading and subscribing and we'll catch you next time. Scott Rabalais |
