Tax Reform Last week, I made a short video to explain an important piece of our Tax Reform proposal: the repeal of the individual mandate. The individual mandate penalty is an unfair tax that overwhelmingly burdens middle-class families. It is a tax too often paid by people living paycheck to paycheck. One-third of the families paying the tax are households making $25,000 a year or less. You can watch me talk more about the repeal of the individual mandate here. I also joined ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday to talk about Tax Reform and my hope to have a reform bill on the President’s desk by Christmas. You can watch that segment here.
Thanksgiving I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday- hopefully filled with family, friends and good food. Sen. John Thune and I had a special visit on Capitol Hill from the newly pardoned turkey you can see what happened here!
Around the State Last week, I visited Darlington to meet with their Chamber of Commerce members. I enjoyed speaking with and taking questions from fellow South Carolinians- it is always great to be home!
