Voter fraud is a hot-button issue as the election approaches in November. That’s why state and local officials across the country are keeping a watchful eye for any discrepancies on voter rolls. But one bizarre incident in Atlanta was simply too strange to keep off the radar. Ron Tims, a longtime resident, checked his mail recently and received a voter registration application for one “Cody Tims.”

Ron did a double-take, as he instantly recognized the name: His cat who died more than 10 years ago. Ron isn’t sure how that name even made it on to the list of potential voters, nor can he tell if this was an actual attempt at fraud or not. But reassuringly, the Georgia Secretary of State’s office is taking the matter quite seriously. Until a constitutional amendment is passed, cats will have to be satisfied staying home on November 3.
