Party like itâs 1999: Bedazzled Furby sells for $1000 Despite being front-loaded with big-budget spectacle and superhero flicks, 2019 was a year of unexpected box office breakouts. And one of the biggest surprises of the year came at the end, with the release of A24âs thriller âUncut Gems.â The film portrays Adam Sandlerâs characterâs descent into the glitzy and grimy world of New Yorkâs Diamond District. One of the most memorable props from the movie was a necklace made by Sandlerâs character Howie: a 4-inch gem-encrusted Furby. As soon as they saw the movie, fans everywhere were eager to get their hands on a replica, and A24 was more than happy to oblige with a $250 collectable figure. But this prop quickly sold out and scores have made their way to eBay. One even sold for $1,000. For fans out there eager to cash in on the hype, itâll probably be easier to just get a McDonaldâs Furby toy on eBay for a dollar and just visit an arts and crafts store. It may be hard to get an iced-out Furby, but not as hard as it is to crush a diamond. Tap or click to see a diamond versus a hydraulic press. â |
