WARNING: This article contains content that may be upsetting to some readers. The hits keep on coming for Taylor Swift. The singer, who is currently on her wildly successful Eras Tour, has released a new Midnights vault track. Fans think the star is seemingly referring to her split from actor Joe Alwyn, who she dated for six years, as she sings about growing apart from her subject. "My heart won't start anymore for you / 'Cause you're losing me," she sings. She considers ending the relationship. "Do I throw out everything we built or keep it?" she asks. "Now you're running down the hallway / And you know what they all say, 'You don't know what you got until it's gone,'" she sings before adding, "How long could we be a sad song / 'Til we were too far gone to bring back to life? / I gave you all my best mes, my endless empathy." She also speaks of her subject turning down her marriage proposal as she sings: "I'm the best thing at this party / And I wouldn't marry me either / A pathological people pleaser / Who only wanted you to see her." Shortly after the couple's split, Swift sparked romance rumours with Matty Healy, but the relationship has since drawn backlash. The 1975's singer's disturbing past comments resurfaced, per The Guardian, about him watching Ghetto Gaggers, a porn site that features women of colour being degraded and humiliated.
