Barclays Completes ‘Ring-Fencing’ Overhaul In Post-Crisis Reforms

Barclays announced the completion of its ring-fencing initiative, a process that separates its retail unit from its investment arm as required for top U.K. banks under new rules coming into effect on Jan. 1, 2019, aimed at preventing another taxpayer bailout of “too big to fail” institutions.
