Photo Credit: Cor Vos After three wins back-to-back at RideLondon Classique last week, Team DSM and Lorena Wiebes continued their incredible run of form today, making it four wins in five race days after a resounding sprint victory on the second day of action at the Women’s Tour this afternoon; showing great resilience after stage one’s disappointment. Unlike yesterday’s rain and wind, the peloton were greeted with some unusual British sun and favourable riding conditions, and on the predominantly flat parcours the team set out with the clear goal of controlling the race and setting up Wiebes for the finale. After being helped by Megan Jastrab, Franziska Koch brought Wiebes into a good position going under the flamme rouge, keeping the pace high at the front before expertly handing over to Charlotte Kool who began the lead out. Kool went all-in before flicking her elbow at 200 metres to go, where Wiebes unleashed a dominant sprint, galloping clear of the opposition and ultimately winning the stage by several bike lengths in Harlow; taking the Women's program's 11th win of the season.
