We couldn’t send newsletters last week because of some miscommunication between our web host and our newsletter service. It took a few days to figure out what happened, what made it happen, and how we could prevent it from happening again. But we never stopped publishing at Technical.ly! Here are some of the great articles we had last week: $1.1M makes a Baltimore-area firm an exclusive licensee of Australian AI-driven marketing software — “Robotic Marketer, a software company with offices in South Yarra and Sydney, Australia (as well as an address in Atlanta, Georgia), recently entered an exclusive partnership with The C-360 Agency, a Sparks, Maryland-headquartered marketing, advertising and PR agency. Through this partnership, C-360 will serve as the exclusive US licensee for Robotic Marketer’s innovative strategy automation software in North America.” Money Moves: Astek Diagnostics raised $2M for a medical device launch — The founder of this former RealLIST Startup said that the latest raise marks the close of a round in which the company had raised $1 million earlier this spring. In related news: Two Johns Hopkins students’ startups won the university’s first university’s inaugural President’s Venture Fellowships, Squadra Ventures led an $8 million raise in a Texas-based company and Rampart Communications seeks $20 million. Reddit blackout: Here’s why thousands of subreddits are temporarily down — You might have noticed early last week that pages for every major city and state in the mid-Atlantic region had gone private in protest. That included /r/baltimore, which is now back up. — Technical.ly Editorial Director Christina Kristofic (christina@technical.ly) | | | | By Tiny acquihires might lead an M&A rebound.
