| Hi John, Yesterday was a big day for Australia’s largest telco Telstra, with a major announcement of a new services division called Telstra Purple.
Telstra Purple, said to be Australia's largest technology services business, has been formed by combining Telstra Enterprise's business technology services with several companies that the communications giant has acquired.
Organisations need strategic partnerships for success, and "one of out most successful" is with NBN Co, said Telstra Purple ICT and security executive Paul Nicholls at the Telstra Vantage technology showcase in Melbourne yesterday.
And still with Telstra, more than 3.2 million IoT devices are connected to Telstra’s Internet of Things network, with another 2000 being added every day, according to the head of the company’s IoT business.
Ride-share company Uber has overtaken the taxi industry in the battle for marketshare, with a greater proportion of Australians now using Uber compared with taxis, according to newly published research.
Service revenues from low-power IoT technologies will exceed US$2.6 billion by 2024, rising from only US$290 million in 2019, a growth of 800% over the next 5 years, according to a new report.
