Dear friend, We are deeply saddened to share the news of a horrific terror attack near the West Bank settlement of Eli that has left our nation in mourning. Earlier today, two terrorists opened fire at a gas station and an adjacent restaurant, killing four Israelis and wounding four others.
The victims were identified as Elisha Antman, an 18-year-old resident of Eli, Harel Masoud, a 21-year-old resident of Yad Binyamin, Ofer Feirman, a 63-year-old Eli resident, and Nachman Shmuel Mordoff, a 17-year-old resident of Achiya. The terrorist who was killed at the gas station was identified as Muhannad Shahada, from the village of Orif, near Nablus, in the West Bank. The second terrorist was later found and neutralized by security forces. This heartrending event is the latest in a string of increased violence, with the terrorists believed to be associated with Hamas's military wing, the Izzadin al-Qassam brigades . In response to this escalating threat, the IDF and Israel Police have reinforced their presence in the region, providing security to Israeli civilians and working to prevent further independent revenge actions. In light of these recent events, we at Zaka are expanding our efforts to protect as many lives as possible. We are mobilizing all available resources, setting up additional command centers, and strengthening our operational readiness in response to the increased threat. |
