VIDEO: A large pipeline fire was seen from miles away in Brazoria County on Thursday afternoon after reports of an "explosion" in the area. SkyEye flew over a large field where flames were burning in a remote part of it. The Brazoria County Fire Marshal's Office tweeted that it was aware of a fire emergency near FM 2917 and FM 2004. INEOS, which is the company that owns the site, released a statement to ABC13 about the incident, explaining that the fire was due to a release on a pipeline at a valve site. The company said two pipelines were affected containing ethylene and propylene, which are flammable gases. With a potential release of chemicals, land owner Terry Hlavinka said there's concern for impact to land and water.  

"We're here for you. We're doing our best. We're standing behind you," Fire Captain Joey Rickman Jr., of Honey Grove Volunteer Fire Department expressed. On July 9th, Honey Grove volunteer firefighters Evan Brown and Bryson Braley were on their way to a car wreck in Evan's car, when a cow walked into the road. They struck the animal, and the car flipped several times, ejecting Brown out of the car. "Evan suffered severe injuries, some head trauma, and unfortunately had to be taken to the hospital and is in Plano currently in ICU," Rickman said. He's still hospitalized four days later. So, the Honey Grove Volunteer Fire Department started a GoFundMe to help the Brown family with medical expenses. Rickman said they're doing everything they can to help.  

An accidental basement fire caused the Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas to be evacuated Thursday afternoon. At 2:27 p.m. July 13, Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a structure fire call at the century-old hotel located at 1321 Commerce St. When crews arrived, they noticed smoke coming from the basement. It was there they found fire coming from the duct work of the building's HVAC system—leading them to request a second alarm. The blaze was put out almost an hour later, at 3:25 p.m., with the help of approximately 70 to 80 firefighters. Investigators determined the fire was accidental in nature, caused by sparks from a contract worker's drill igniting debris inside the duct work. The flames didn't spread anywhere else; however, smoke moved into other parts of the high rise and DFR personnel stayed behind to help ventilate it.  

VIDEO: A brush fire that began burning at a ranch Thursday afternoon has now grown to scorch 500 acres and is 40% contained as of 10:20 p.m. Officials said no homes have been lost, but 12 were now threatened. Air support and dozers are expected to keep working on building firelines overnight. The Llano County Office of Emergency Management posted on its Facebook page that at least 10 agencies are now responding to the fire located near East Highway 71 and County Road 307. Crews also have CR 307 shut down right now due to the ongoing response. By 6 p.m., there were nearly 20 agencies responding to the fire, including 13 volunteer fire departments. Initially, first responders told KXAN the fire began on a ranch property. As of 2 p.m., the growing fire caused no evacuations.  

PHOTOS: Massive flames erupted in Brazoria County Thursday due to a chemical release in pipelines at an INEOS remote valve site, a spokesperson for the company said. The Brazoria County Fire Marshal's Office said the fire emergency happened near FM 2917 and FM 2004. According to INEOS, ethylene and propylene gases were released. Company and local emergency responders were at the scene. No injuries were reported. A spokesperson for INEOS said affected segments of the pipelines have been isolated. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. An air monitoring crew is being dispatched to the area.  

The search for the suspect who shot and seriously injured two Birmingham firefighters continues, and more reward money is now offered for information leading to the gunman. Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama on Thursday announced a reward of up to $15,000. The reward amount was previously $10,000. The gunfire erupted about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Station 9 in Norwood. Police and fire officials said firefighters Jordan Melton and Jamal Jones were in the bay when the unknown suspect entered and opened fire. Both injured firefighters were taken to UAB Hospital. Jones was last known to be in serious condition and Melton in critical condition. No updates regarding the shooting or investigation have been issued since Wednesday morning.  

Damar Hamlin is giving the spotlight to those who helped save his life. The Buffalo Bills safety, 25, got emotional on stage at Wednesday night's ESPY Awards as he honored the first responders who helped save his life after his cardiac arrest during a January game. Before handing them the Pat Tillman Award for Service, Hamlin told his story in a video, saying, "I didn't wake up that morning in January thinking that I would need someone to save my life that day, and I doubt that the staff thought that they had to do what they did either." "What I've taken away from what happened to me six and a half months ago, is that any of us at any given time are capable of doing something that's incredible, in saving a life and living a life in service to others," he continued. "It's a blessing. It's a responsibility. And it's the very reason why you're hearing my voice right now. Anyone could be a hero. These are mine," he said concluding the video.
