| Crews battle large fire in Fort Worth scrap yard VIDEO: Firefighters battled a large fire on Friday afternoon at a scrap yard in Fort Worth. The fire broke out Friday afternoon at Texas Industrial Scrap Metal along the 3800 block of Commerce Street, near the intersection with NW 38th Street east of Meacham International Airport. Firefighters were able to contain the fire at about 4:17 a.m. on Saturday. From Texas Sky Ranger, the fire could be seen burning in a large heap of scrap metal on the facility's east side adjacent to train tracks. Dark black, billowing smoke was seen rising into the sky for miles. Craig Trojacek, the Fort Worth Fire Department's public information officer, said at about 3:40 p.m. that the fire was a one-alarm fire but that they requested additional resources at the scene primarily because the heat index was expected to reach 112 degrees Friday afternoon. KXAS-TV NBC 5 FORT WORTH Firefighters battle intense warehouse fire in San Antonio VIDEO/PHOTOS: Firefighters battled an intense two-alarm fire at a warehouse on the city's Northside. The fire started at the Jacuzzi Sundance Spas Storage warehouse around 2:30 pm Sunday near Melrose Canyon Drive and Redland Road. According to the San Antonio Fire Department, crews encountered heavy fire coming from the warehouse area, prompting a second alarm response due to the building's size and the intensity of the fire. The warehouse contained a large amount of combustible materials such as plastic and fiberglass which caused the heavy black smoke. The San Antonio Police Department evacuated the street behind the fire as a precautionary measure. Due to the heavy smoke, Gold Canyon to Redland Access Road had been closed to traffic, says SAFD. WOAI-TV NBC/CW 4 SAN ANTONIO First responders work to contain Peter Switch Fire in Wichita County On August 18, crews were out after a large grass fire was spotted near Bacon Switch Road around 2 p.m. Officers blocked off roads to prevent access to the large fire. At the time this article was published, the cause of the fire was currently unknown. Many firefighters were seen working to keep it contained. According to a Facebook post by the Wichita West Volunteer Fire Department the fire is 25 percent contained and has burned 925 acres. KAUZ-TV CBS/CW+ 6 WICHITA FALLS All clear given at Air Liquide facility in Pasadena after transformer fire VIDEO/PHOTOS: A fire at the Air Liquide facility in Pasadena Sunday is now out. The fire was first reported at around 5:30 p.m. at the facility on Bay Area Boulevard near Highway 146. In an update at 6:40 p.m., the office of emergency management posted that the fire was mostly out and crews were working on hot spots. They also said that because of a loss of power, there could be additional flaring. The fire was put out at around 7:15 p.m. and an all-clear was given at 9:21 p.m. Harris County Precinct 8 constables were directing traffic around the facility. | VIDEOS: Massive fire at tire recycling factory in Mississippi still burns We have learned more details regarding a massive fire that broke out on Saturday in Jackson. As of Monday morning, the huge fire that occurred at the Mississippi Tire Recycling building located at East McDowell Road and Parcel Drive still burns. Jackson Fire Assistant Chief Patrick Armon said firefighters are still actively trying to put out the blaze. He says that 10 alarms went off when the fire began, meaning around 10 units responded to the scene to get the blaze under control. Since Saturday, he says at least one or two firetrucks have been at the scene every minute. Armon also said that crews have been using hydrants since Saturday, but due to a water main break, firefighters were reduced to using the water on their firetrucks Sunday evening. WLBT-TV NBC 3 JACKSON Man arrested after shooting at fire, EMS officials & stealing fire vehicle in North Carolina The Rowan County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after he fired shots at fire and EMS officials and then fled from the scene in a fire vehicle. Officials state around 11:45 a.m. Rowan County emergency services and Atwell Fire Department responded to Shinn Farm Road and Hwy. 152 in regards to an unconscious male sitting in a vehicle. When they arrived on scene it did not appear the male needed medical attention and could possibly be impaired. They contacted North Carolina State Highway Patrol and while waiting for highway patrol to arrive on scene, the male produced a handgun and began shooting at fire and EMS. Officials state that one Rowan County paramedic sustained an arm injury from a fall while seeking cover. The sheriff's office stated that the male, identified as Miguel Angel Perez Ramirez, got into a fire pickup truck and drove erratically. WBTV CBS 3 CHARLOTTE Popular YouTube group experiences fire academy in Colorado A trio of YouTubers made their firefighting debuts in Denver with South Metro Fire Rescue. The Try Guys first appeared in Buzzfeed videos trying various odd-ball activities — anything from baking bread to recreating images of famous male icons. But they have since left the media giant and started their own company: 2nd Try. The trio appeared in a YouTube video published Saturday that features the Parker facility and members of the South Metro Fire Rescue crew. The group, originally made up of four members, is making one last push with three of its original members: Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld and Eugene Lee Yang. As part of their last hurrah, Kornfeld, Yang and Habersberger joined South Metro Fire Rescue for one day to try out the agency's high-intensity fire academy, which ordinarily takes 20 weeks to complete.
