The accident on the I-345 Expressway, which connects I-45 and US-75, and South Good Latimer happened just after 6 a.m. Dallas police say the fire engine hydroplaned, lost control and went off the bridge. All four DFR members are said to be stable at Baylor University Medical Center. A highway sign fell across the roadway as a result of the crash. Parts of I-345, South Good Latimer, Routh Street and the DART tracks were closed. DART says service will continue to be impacted on Monday morning into the afternoon and possibly later depending on the damage. Dallas Fire-Rescue says three of the four injured firefighters have been released from the hospital.  

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Pastor Robert Jeffress says First Baptist Dallas will rebuild its historic sanctuary after a devastating fire on Friday night. "We're going to recreate it as a standing symbol of the truth. The unchangableness, the endurance of the word of God. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever," said Jeffress. Thousands of worshipers came to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center for First Baptist's Sunday service. "We can not allow Satan to have the last word," said Jeffress. "If we allow that thing to remain in ruins, it will look to the whole world like we have been defeated by the evil one, so we are going to rebuild, we're going to recreate." The church's historic sanctuary, built in 1890, in Downtown Dallas caught fire on Friday night, eventually growing into a four-alarm blaze.  

PHOTOS: The Wichita Falls Fire Department held its 40th anniversary memorial service Friday at the Wichita Falls Public Safety Training Center to honor the department's fallen. The room was lined with current WFFD members and young firefighters in training. Retired firefighters sat amongst the crowd which included their families and local city officials. The service began with a prayer from Lead Chaplain Paul Meyenberg. Fire Chief Donald Hughes and Deputy Fire Chief Cody Melton each spoke about how important it is to remember their fellow firefighters and the families they left behind. Hughes then read off the names of a few fallen firefighters. After each name, a member of the honor guard rang a bell that echoed throughout the room.  

An abandoned house downtown went up in flames Sunday afternoon, according to the San Antonio Fire Department. The fire broke out around 12:50 p.m. on Sunday in the 200 block of Roy Smith Street. Officials said an abandoned house caught on fire. The flames were put out before they could spread to nearby apartment complexes. Smoke from the fire could be seen from U.S. Highway 281 heading toward downtown. No injuries were reported in the fire.

Infinity Beatty-Metcalfe's graduation from Hennepin Healthcare's paramedic trainee program on Friday may have been destiny, but it was a delayed one for the 31-year-old. She pushed herself after growing up in foster care to become an emergency medical technician (EMT) at 19. But Beatty-Metcalfe burned out from the intensity and frequency of ambulance runs in St. Louis. She had been inspired after witnessing the heroism of paramedics who brought a baby born prematurely to a hospital by helicopter. But paramedic training seemed impossible while working to pay bills and starting a family. "That's a lot of balls to balance," Beatty-Metcalfe said. Her struggle is exactly why Hennepin Healthcare's emergency medical services (EMS) division created its trainee program in 2020, paying EMTs to work part time while completing accelerated paramedic training.
