Four fire departments rushed to put out a blaze that broke out near Elysian Fields early Sunday morning. According to Elysian Fields Volunteer Fire Department's Chief Peeples, the blaze started around 1 a.m. at an oil pad off Strickland Springs Rd. Firefighters from Waskom Fire Department and Harrison County's ESD #3 and ESD #4 came to help the Elysian Fields firefighters bring the flames under control. Peeples said 12 trucks responded, with 20 personnel fighting the flames. It took them around five hours to bring the blaze under control. Scott Yarnell with the Waskom VFD said a pressurized line broke and sprayed diesel fuel across the site, which is owned by TG Natural Resources out of Houston. The fuel caught fire and continued to spread, burning fourteen semi-trucks parked in a row, a generator, and other equipment on the site.  

VIDEO: The Bryan Fire Department responded to a structure fire around 7 p.m. on Saturday on Miramont Circle. According to reports the fire happened at a house on Miramont near Concordia Drive that is still under construction. The flames caused a large plum of smoke to be visible. Fire officials confirmed the home was unoccupied and there were no injuries, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.  

VIDEO: Authorities are investigating the weekend collapse of a portion of bleachers at a rodeo arena in Texas, injuring 12 people near San Antonio. Emergency responders arrived at the rodeo arena shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday in Boerne, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) north of San Antonio, said Boerne Assistant Fire Chief Walter Ball. Four people were treated at the scene of Saturday night's collapse at the Kendall County Fairgrounds while eight others were taken to hospitals with six of those since released, according to Ball. An initial inspection by the Boerne Fire Marshal and the city code compliance office Sunday morning found that a more thorough investigation by a structural engineer is needed to determine the cause of the collapse before the arena can be reopened.  

A massive fire destroyed the Wolf Lodge Inn near Coeur d'Alene Monday. The fire was reported around noon and multiple fire trucks and ambulances responded. Firefighters upgraded to a four-alarm fire requesting assistance from Idaho Department of Lands, Idaho State Police, Spokane County, and Shoshone County. The fire spread to the woodlands behind the lodge causing a small wildfire that firefighters were able to contain. Kootenai County Fire said one person was taken to the hospital for burns. Three firefighters were injured when the windows blew out and they suffered smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion. They were not transported to the hospital. The first fire crew on scene said the fire began in the back of the building and rear attic.

Fire was a constant danger in Kansas City's early history. Most homes were built of wood and heated with coal. Chimney fires were common and every second mattered for the crews tasked with putting them out. Ray Elder, the official historian with The Kansas City Fire Historical Society, began documenting the history of Kansas City's fire department when he retired after 35 years — 16 years as its captain.  

PHOTOS: The Anne Arundel County Fire Department officially welcomed the newest addition to its maritime fleet with the first of two state-of-the-art 50-foot Defiant NXT Fireboats on Tuesday at Sandy Point State Park. Representatives from Metal Shark, which manufactured the boat, delivered the first fireboat via waterways from Louisiana to Maryland. This powerful and versatile vessel is set to significantly enhance the county's ability to respond to emergencies on the water. The new fireboat, whose name will be released in the coming months, represents a significant investment in the safety and security of Anne Arundel County. With over 500 miles of shoreline, this new asset is faster and better equipped to handle a wide range of maritime emergencies, from fires on boats and waterfront structures to medical emergencies and search and rescue operations on and around the county's vast waterways.
