VIDEO/PHOTOS: The Plano Fire Department is investigating a house fire that is thought to have been caused by the strong storms that rolled through Monday night. According to Plano officials, the fire sparked just before 9 p.m. on Monday on Crystal Falls Drive in the Kings Ridge development. People inside the home said they heard a loud "boom" before seeing smoke and fire just as severe weather was passing through the area. At least two dozen firefighters responded to help extinguish the blaze, fire officials said. Plano fire officials said it took about an hour to get the fire under control. According to fire officials, no one was injured during the fire. Neighbors said the homeowner was able to stay in a hotel overnight as the house is heavily damaged and missing most of its roof.

VIDEO: Firefighters were fighting a building fire in northwest Houston. It happened at the 2500 block of Southerland Road. Firefighters were called out around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning to an abandoned lab testing building. Houston Fire Department crews had to call in for backup because the fire quickly spread to nearby buildings. About 80 to 100 firefighters were called to the scene. The fire has since been put out and no injuries were reported. But because this was a lab, hazmat workers are checking for any hazardous chemicals. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

VIDEO: When your home is on fire or you're involved in a car crash, the first thing you want to see is the big red truck that says, "Round Rock Fire Department" on it. It's equipped with all the necessary resources and manpower needed to respond to emergencies. But for Annie Burwell, an employee of the fire department, it's not her choice of vehicle when she is working. "It's a little too big for me," Burwell said with a smile. She is the program manager of the city's Crisis Response Unit, a 13-member team full of medical professionals and behavioral specialists that respond to mental health crises. The CRU is better equipped than police officers and firefighters to handle these situations. It has more time to work with individuals and get them the help they need while freeing up police and fire to respond to other emergencies.

San Antonio fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire at a home on the city's Southwest Side overnight. The fire was called in around 2 a.m. at a home in the 200 block of McLaughlin Avenue, not far from Southwest Military Drive and New Laredo Highway. Firefighters said they arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. They were able to put the fire out quickly and without incident. Fire officials said the son of the homeowner was staying at the home the last couple of days to keep an eye on the place, but he was not home at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is not currently known. A fire investigation team will now try and figure out an exact cause. The San Antonio Fire Department and San Antonio Police Department both responded to the call.

Elsewhere in the Proctorville community, the roof of Fairland West Elementary was partially blown off. One fire truck was damaged by the roof collapse.

"When I started we had a kind of a tradition that you sent the new guy in, or new girl in, to do all the dirty work, or all the unfavorable work, so to speak," Brian Thompson with the Sutter County Fire Department says in a scene from the new documentary "Yes, There is Hope" directed by Dean Tokuno of Yuba City. "You didn't get to talk about it back then and that's definitely had a toll on me. When you go home to your family and you're not supposed to talk about it, I think what we're trying to accomplish here is helping because we're getting it out there. There seems to be a huge push in mental health and taking care of people. I wish this was available to me when I started. I started when I was 20. I've seen a lot." Featuring several local voices, the film delves into the serious and pressing topic of mental health.
