Southern Dallas warehouse fire caused by electrical short, officials say Crews responded to a fire at the Lineage Warehouse in southern Dallas Tuesday afternoon. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the two-story building in the 7700 block of Dynasty Drive shortly after 3 p.m. after receiving reports of black smoke billowing from the roof. A second alarm was dispatched at 3:17 p.m., resulting in 40 to 45 firefighters responding to the scene. It took fire crews more than three hours to gain control of the fire. The blaze was officially put out around 6:48 p.m. According to DFR, the cause of the fire was "accidental in nature" due to an electrical short involving the solar panel system located on the roof. Officials said the roof partially collapsed but no one was hurt. "The damage was mostly isolated to the roof, with a small area falling down into the building's interior," DFR told WFAA. Grapevine Fire Chief Darrell Brown said the spill happened around 7:40 p.m. Monday along the 2500 block of Oak Grove Loop South. Brown said he did not know how many gallons went into the water but there was a 100x50 ft. sheen on top of the lake. Companies arrived and found a fuel leak and quickly shut down the necessary valves to prevent further leakage, the city said. Containment booms were quickly deployed, with additional booms deployed by the Northeast Fire Department Association (NEFDA) Hazardous Materials Team, and the spilled fuel was contained. NEFDA is a mutual aid organization from the northeast Tarrant County area. KUTV CBS 2 SALT LAKE CITY Former California firefighter's smoking hot sunglass company gains popularity VIDEO/PHOTOS: When the sunglasses worn by a firefighter kept getting destroyed, he chose to fight fire with fire. When Mike Ettenberg was a firefighter for the city of Coronado, sunglasses were the item he could wear that brought out his personality. But when the alarm rang and duty called, it was like those designer shades were meant to be scratched, cracked, broken, and lost. "The inside of the rig during a call is like a tornado. Things go flying everywhere, everything is made out of metal," said Mike. Although lives were saved during calls for service, oftentimes, Mike's sunglasses were not. "I broke about three of them in 9 months. It was expensive," said Mike. So, this man of action created his own sunglasses company and named it Frontline Optics.
