| After Australia, US Publishers May Bargain With Tech Giants | | After Facebook and Google made deals to dodge a big part of the Australian media law that would force them to pay publishers for news content on their platforms, the U.S. is considering action to protect news organizations. The measure, which was first proposed in 2018, would allow news media companies to bargain with tech giants and seek “to stop the complete devastation that we’ve been seeing to the news industry.” Adweek’s Scott Nover explains.
