The 2024 American Lawyer Industry Awards |
The 2024 American Lawyer Industry Awards took place Nov. 13 in New York City. The evening was a smashing success, bringing together nearly 700 legal luminaries to honor lifetimes of achievements and the many ways the industry is innovating for the future. From practice of law expertise to strong business teams and law department visionaries to best mentors, the awards are meant to honor the best of what the legal profession can be and the ways it is evolving to meet current market demands. Among the several inspirational remarks, we heard from lifetime achievement honoree David Boies as he remembered his friendship with the late Ted Olson and how the one-time adversaries could still be lifelong friends. We heard from retired Judge Ann Claire Williams of Jones Day on her rule of law work in Africa. We heard from famed negotiator Ken Feinberg on the need for diversity in arbitration. We heard from all of our honorees on the critical importance of the legal profession to world events and the power lawyers hold with their law degree. It was an evening of reminding us how we can continue to make a difference in the world and push ourselves to always be better. The winners and finalists of all of our law-firm focused categories can be found here. Write ups of our legal department and law firm winners will continue to be rolled out on The American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel. |
