PLUS: Enjoying an analog life and dealing with your anger
| BY LOGAN MAHAN I’ve had some arguably unconventional takes on the styles of tops I’d like to see men wear. Crop tops are one of my long-held male style beliefs about which I typically receive backlash. (God forbid a woman enjoy some bare male midriff!) Despite my wishes, I know the crop top can be a bridge too far (or a hem too short) for most men. So, if that’s the case, let us come to a middle ground, make like Pascal and try a cutoff tee. | |

| I’ve spilled coffee on myself on two commutes in the last two weeks. I’m about to turn 30 — what the hell is wrong with me? Maybe I’m filling the Yeti a little too aggressively. Maybe the drink holsters on my backpack (which is about to turn five) are starting to give way. Maybe I need to stop hauling ass up the subway stairs. At any rate, I’ve resolved to start walking with my tumbler firmly in my grasp. It keeps my phone away, a nice mini digital detox, and constitutes a not-nothing exercise for the 34 little muscles in my hand. And lately, realizing my right hand was doing all the work, I’ve made a point to shift the coffee over to my left hand. My little morning exercise got me thinking: should I be engaging with my non-dominant hand more often? | |

| BY ALEX LAUER The bolt of lightning in my recent streaming queue has been The Wheel of Time, which recently finished up its third season on Amazon Prime Video. Not only was this by far the best installment of the fantasy series yet, but it featured two of the best episodes of TV I’ve seen in years. Not just the best in the geek genres, but the best TV — full stop. The hair-raising, gasp-inducing storytelling I was missing elsewhere? It’s all here. I’ll be the first to acknowledge that The Wheel of Time, which is a loose adaptation of Robert Jordan’s 14-book high fantasy series, got off on the wrong foot. But by bringing in new (and better) directors and new characters (played by better actors), the second season felt like an entirely new show. Is it too little, too late? | |
