Dearest Readers, I spent the past three? four? five? days gallivanting around NYC, stuffing myself full of Malaysian desserts. I got to see my friend's 7-month old and share an existential crisis about the fact that we're older than our favorite professors were back when we first met them and that he is responsible for teaching the most basic concepts like "pants" to his baby. I also visited the Met Cloisters and got a little too excited about medieval lions, which has resulted in an in-progress Twitter thread. On the drive home, I picked up a bunch of Rumpus merch to lug to AWP, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come by our booth (#555) so that my car is less crowded on the way home. There's also a special lil something-something happening that will allow you to a) get your fave merch for *cheap* and b) help The Rumpus become fully self-sustaining. Scroll down to see where we'll be (both virtually and IRL) during AWP. There are both Rumpus-sponsored events as well as "stuff we are looking forward to" listed separately below. For those of you who aren't able to go or are choosing not to go this year, we 100% support you and will be continuing to post according to our regular content schedule, so there will still be lots of goodies for you to read. We've also got a bit less than a week left on our Bonfire campaign to raise funds for our April contributors, so make sure to get your READ MORE POETRY merch while you can and help us hit our goal of 200---we're at 58 as I type this! Till next week, alysia |
