When the Trump FCC demolished the Net Neutrality rules in 2017, we were among the first to sue in federal court. The court’s decision is expected any day now — and we need to be ready for every possible outcome. The court’s decision will shake up the political landscape in crucial ways, and you can bet the companies controlling the internet are already plotting their strategies.
Our opponents know that Net Neutrality is a winning political issue that’s showing up in polls and presidential-candidate stump speeches. They know that the public overwhelming supports Net Neutrality because so much is at stake. Without a free and open internet, activists fighting for racial, gender and LGBTQ+ justice, immigrant rights, environmental justice — and every other life-and-death issue of our time — are at risk of having their voices silenced.
All of this is exactly why Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are proceeding with their corrupt plans to allow the companies that fill their coffers1 — and fuel their harmful agendas — to shut down the open internet.
