According to an email sent to students by Acting Provost Susan Collins, all undergraduate courses at the University of Michigan will transition to an alternative grading policy.

The policy, announced this Friday, says that students will now receive a “Pass” or “No Record Covid” on their transcript, as opposed to a letter grade. Students will have the option to “unmask” their letter grade in order for the traditional letter to be put onto their transcripts and impact their GPA.

'U' to refund $1,200 to students moving out of residence halls

According to an email sent to housing residents from Simone Himbeault Taylor, interim vice president for student life, Friday morning, all students who move out of residence halls by March 25 will receive a $1,200 refund.

Students who have already checked out of their residence halls will automatically receive the refund, which will be directly applied to each student’s account.

Washtenaw County Health Department reports first local COVID-19 death

In a press release Sunday afternoon, the Washtenaw County Health Department announced that an elderly man with underlying health conditions passed away at Michigan Medicine on Sunday from reasons attributed to COVID-19.

As of Sunday afternoon, there are currently 35 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Washtenaw County, and 1,035 cases in Michigan.

For graduating students, last college moments came and went before they knew it

On the heels of widespread changes in daily life in response to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, graduating students at the University unknowingly experienced their final college moments.

Editor in Chief Elizabeth Lawrence and former Editor in Chief Maya Goldman talked to these students to hear their thoughts on their final experiences.

Season in review: 2019-20 men’s basketball

Ten days ago, the Michigan men’s basketball team was under the impression that they would be heading to their first-round site for the NCAA Basketball Tournament. However, their hopes came crashing down last Thursday when the NCAA announced that the tournament would be canceled.
