Despite all the talented young players, the grizzled veterans who have been through the ups and downs of the last few seasons and the new head coach with a seemingly magic touch, Michigan still has to perform on the ice.
Dear subscribers,
Michigan Football sophomore cornerback David Long credited Jourdan Lewis with helping him improve during his freshman year. In light of Sunday's racist incident in West Quad, the Black Student Union hosted a "Destress" event in the MLB Tuesday night. Friday night, Paramore commanded the crowd at the Fox Theatre. Tuesday, Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell discusses his own past and his opinions on future national security. Finally, we have a reflection on Mel Pearson's return to Michigan as the Michigan hockey team's head coach.
All the best,
The Michigan Daily
David Long said he still talks to Jourdan Lewis every day of the week â or at least three if heâs busy. And Long could arguably thank Lewis â who he dubbed as a role model â for his current starting role with the Wolverines.
In light of racist comments written on Black studentsâ doors this past weekend in West Quad, many students are unhappy with University President Mark Schlisselâs apparent silence.Â
U.S. General and former Secretary of State Colin Powell was greeted with a standing ovation at a packed Hill Auditorium on Tuesday afternoon. The event, organized by the University of Michigan College of Engineering, was part of the James R. Mellor Lecture in conjunction with the Goff Smith Prize.

The entire night, Williams commanded an intriguing and telling presence, in that the audienceâs mood always felt mirrored to her own.
