DeerLake Weekly Letter, Christmas Time is Here.

Merry Christmas Everyone. Becca and I wish everyone health and happiness.

Today we made bowls, mugs, and plates out of clay. I washed up good as usual, all the way up to my elbows. Then I'm sittin here noticing how much clay is on my pants and shirt. Oh, and what's this, clay in my hair. Not sure how it got to the top of my head. Maybe I can blame it on my nice puppy dog. Maybe I was swatting a fly, more likely I just had an itch. Now after two days of pottery making, I think my clothes are telling me to just keep on going. This is a good time for us to make up the pottery that we will have on hand when company visits and wants to paint (glaze) pottery throughout the summer.

We were visiting friends the other day, talking about their dahlia garden and how they have to work all year on taking care of the tubbers. I didn't realize all the time it took during the year, in preparation for those beautiful blooms. I dug mine up this year, washed them off, dried them and placed them in wood chip for storage. Thought I was done till spring. Well we shall see if they survive or not.

Please, if you love me, love my children—all of them,
especially the ones that challenge your traditions.

One morning when we awoke,
our mother yelled up to us in a frantic tone to get up. My sister Dana and I jumped out of bed, anticipating a snow-day

My mind begins to wander
to them days of long ago.
I’d hear the bells on jingle-sleighs
and feel the cold wet snow.

Where's the line to see Jesus? He was born for me.
Having been taught as a toddler that Christmas is the holiday that Christians celebrate the birth of God's son.

White Christmas’ was playing.

I would never forget

The snowdrifts are piled deep
And traffic is a slow creep,
The weather out is frightful
But the fireside is delightful.

Christmas Time Thought -

See what it is that your family and friends need most,
what would mean the most to them;
let those be the gifts that you give this year.
