| | The Dynamic Ocean: Changes and Impacts Virtual Conference Saturday, May 13 10 AM - 2 PM ET
|
The ocean is the defining physical feature of our planet. The interaction of oceanic and atmospheric processes controls our planet's weather and climate, and dominates Earth's energy, water, and carbon cycles. Join NSTA, NOAA, and NOAA partner scientists and educators for an exciting virtual conference on Saturday, May 13 to learn about the ocean, how we are changing it, and the impacts these changes are having on our world.
Participants will be able to:
- Learn basic oceanic and atmospheric circulation patterns and how energy/heat, and nutrients move around the planet.
- Understand how the transfer of heat energy through ocean circulation patterns and atmospheric interaction affects weather and climate.
- Understand the causes and trends in sea level changes and how these changes affect coastal habitats and human communities.
- Learn how ocean temperatures and chemistry are changing, and how these changes affect corals and other marine species, including their habitats and distributions.
- Learn about NOAA data and education resources about sea surface temperature, sea level rise, ocean acidification, and coral bleaching that integrate real data sets.
| | | Busy that Saturday? No problem! Register and receive access to the conference archives to watch later on-demand.
| In addition, participants receive the Ocean's Effect on Weather and Climate SciPack with their paid registration (value $18) at no additional cost.
