By Chad Calder | Staff writer STAYING ALIVE: The Saints defense came up big again on a day the offense could only stay 8 points ahead of the Panthers. Previous entries include the population growth on the north shore, the increasing diversity in the suburbs and the depopulation of the state's rural areas. OMICRON SURGE CONTINUES: For the second week in a row, the Louisiana Department of Health released COVID-19 data on a Sunday, a signal of growing concern that the surge fueled by the omicron variant is a development to be taken seriously.
