Dear Reader, It’s ‘The Greatest Dividend Stock on the Planet’. ‘And Virtually No One Even Knows It Exists!’ That’s the title of a recent stock profile by a well-known financial website. One of many you’ll get hit with when you type in the hot search-of-the-moment: ‘Best dividend stocks.’ The article goes on to gush about a ‘practically unknown company has been paying a consecutive dividend for more than two centuries.’ (Spoiler alert: It’s an American utility stock called York Water.) Don’t buy it. I have a better plan of attack if you want to inject income into your portfolio in the second half of 2023… It’s no surprise that finance websites are bombarding you with dividend ops like this daily… The big growth bull market is over. Inflation is the bogeyman. Stock markets have done bugger all for the last two years. And show no signs of a significant recovery anytime soon. So, investors are shifting back to good old-fashioned cash flow and income. And mainstream investment sources…hungry for traffic…are more than willing to oblige. But their dividend stock solutions are not very well thought-out. Companies that have been ‘paying good dividends for two centuries’ make good copy. But they are rarely the best investments at this point in the cycle. As such…over the last four weeks…I’ve undertaken a serious new valuation project. If you’re interested in getting an enhanced income from your share portfolio…I urge you to check out the six-stock selection here. It’s a careful curation of a very specific type of income stock. They’re not the usual roll call when you Google ‘Best Dividend Stocks’. You won’t find many of these selected shares in the ‘Top 10’ yield charts. They’re obscure, unpopular, and a little bit ugly. Needless to say, this income portfolio selection is different. That’s because it focuses on a very specific sweet spot. I believe it’s a sweet spot almost all conventional analysis on dividend stocks is completely missing right now. I call this income share curation: ‘The Royal Dividend Portfolio’.
