Stephen Malkmus has always had, has and will have the doors of Primavera Sound wide open for him. He has earned it: the Californian, lead singer of Pavement and indie hero, is part of that club of artists who have had an almost personal impact on the identity of the festival. And that's why he can join the line-up of the 23rd edition whenever he wants to. He does so now leading The Hard Quartet, the new band he has formed with Matt Sweeney, Emmett Kelly and Jim White. Four musicians with long and more than satisfactory careers forming a new band after their fifties and even going on tour? Impossible to ignore that pure and sincere desire to continue making and sharing songs like those on their first album, a love letter to classic rock. Another adventure in search of the perfect pop-rock melody that will bring The Hard Quartet to Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025, where they will perform in the Parc del Fòrum on Friday 6th June alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Clairo, HAIM, Beach House, Wet Leg and Floating Points. The day before, on the 5th of June, they will also present their debut at Sala Villanos in Madrid as part of the Primavera Tours programme. With The Hard Quartet bringing the number of artists and bands on the Primavera Sound Barcelona line-up to 151, day tickets are still on sale after full festival tickets sold out in record time. There are just over six months to go until a historic edition which, obviously, had to include Stephen Malkmus. 5TH JUNE (SALA VILLANOS) - MADRID 6TH JUNE (PARC DEL FÒRUM, PRIMAVERA SOUND) - BARCELONA Tickets for the Sala Villanos will be on sale on 6 December at 10am for 35€ at Fever. Day tickets for Primavera Sound Barcelona are already on sale at on sale from 135€. Where will you see them? |
