Famed sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews was in Lafayette on Tuesday as part of the announcement of his five-year exclusive partnership with Ochsner Health in Lafayette to create The Ochsner Andrews Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute, among about 20 partnerships the Louisiana-based health system entered nationwide. Andrews, who is from the Homer area in Claiborne Parish, has done procedures on such high-profile athletes as Michael Jordan, Brett Favre, Jack Nicklaus, Bo Jackson and John Smoltz.
