BSI leads new ISO working group on Continuity and Resilience  
In September, we were given the leadership role for the new ISO working group responsible for ISO 22301 – Business Continuity Management: Requirements as well as the supporting guidance, ISO 22313. 
See an update of our current activities:
In October, BS DD 22317 - BCM systems – Business Impact Analysis and BS DD 22318 - BCM - Guidance for supply chain continuity will be available on our shop. These documents are complimentary and supportive to
BS ISO 22301 and BS ISO 22313
A new work item proposal "People Aspects of Continuity Management" is scheduled to begin in April 2016. This important work highlights the needs of people who could be involved in, or affected by, a disruptive event
The draft for public consultation for ISO 22316 – Organizational Resilience is due February 2016        
A new initiative for a technical specification in CEN based on the popular standard, BS 11200 – Crisis Management – is scheduled to begin January 2016

Coming soon - BS 12999 - Damage management – Code of practice for the organization and management of the stabilization, mitigation and restoration of properties, contents, facilities and assets following incident damage




This standard provides recommendations for the organization and management of the initial response, stabilization, and restoration of properties, contents and assets following incident damage.  It gives recommendations to individual damage management practitioners and organizations involved in carrying out damage management. It is applicable to domestic, commercial and public buildings.


BS 12999 is due to publish early November and will be launching at the British Disaster Management Association (BDMA) Conference, 25-26 November 2015, Stratford.

Introducing BS 8584:2015 Vacant property protection services - Code of practice
BS 8584 gives recommendations for the provision of security and management services, the provision of manned services (static guarding, mobile patrols, remote monitoring services), physical devices (barriers), electronic systems (alarm and CCTV), and protection by occupation, for the security of vacant properties.
The standard is applicable to providers and procurers of protection services for vacant properties.
