The Learning Roads has been established at the Dipartimento di Civiltà e forme del sapere, Università di Pisa, to develop research and foster critical scholarship on the transmission of learning broadly speaking in and from the Mediterranean area. Ranging from Ancient Egypt to the Middle Ages and beyond, and encompassing Archaeology, Religious History, Oriental Studies, Ancient, Late Antique, Islamic and Medieval philosophy, we strive to be a resource for the scientific community and in the public sphere. The Research Unit is a very rare combination of outstanding research in Ancient and Medieval philosophy, Arabic thought, Syriac studies, Egyptology, and Religious History.
