| Anna-Marie Rieffer walks on a treadmill at M Health Fairview. She's been struggling with long-term effects of COVID-19 since getting it in October. | Evan Frost for MPR News | Physical therapy is one part of Anna-Marie Rieffer's treatment for post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 — aka long-COVID. Symptoms include profound fatigue, shortness of breath, brain fog and headaches. And they can linger far past getting the virus. Rieffer had a relatively mild case of COVID-19 in October 2020, but now even riding her motorcycle is difficult. One of Rieffer's doctors at M Health Fairview in Minneapolis says observing and studying how long-COVID is playing out among thousands of people is also driving insight into other understudied chronic conditions like chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. Long-COVID is also teaching doctors to listen more carefully to patients who might have nebulous or hard-to-define conditions. Read the full story from MPR News reporter Catharine Richert.

| Opioid overdoses took the lives of nearly 5,000 Minnesotans just between 2000 and 2019. Now the originator of oxycontin, Purdue Pharma, is paying out more than $50 million to Minnesota over nine years. Attorney General Keith Ellison said the funds will go to addiction prevention, treatment and recovery. "There's no amount of money that's going to compensate the victims," he said yesterday. "They should pay more and — I’m speaking for myself — they should apologize."

| Attorney Ben Crump won a $27 million settlement from the city of Minneapolis over the killing of George Floyd, and he'll now represent the family of Leneal Frazier, who died in a car crash with a Minneapolis police squad car Tuesday. As a reminder, Leneal Frazier is the uncle of Darnella Frazier, the young woman who recorded video of Floyd's murder in May 2020. "Police pursuits should be rare and law enforcement should take the greatest of precautions to protect all involved, especially innocent drivers and bystanders," Crump said in a statement. Mayor Jacob Frey said the city is going to review its police pursuit policy, which was updated in 2019 after pursuits rose sharply over three years.
