He was born in a commercial kennel in Missouri with a patent ductus arteriosis heart murmur. There was a hole in his heart causing a leakage. He was failing to thrive and without immediate medical intervention this precious little baby would die. The surgeon at Texas A&M told me that Grady, at that time, had been the smallest puppy on which they had ever performed the life-saving procedure.
