Hi John!

Hi!

I’m so impressed with people who take control of their own lives.

People who say “That’s it. You crossed a line. I’m done!”

I’m going to tell you a story about a woman who finally divorced her narcissist husband and the tiny little reason why she did it.

Stay tuned.

Here are some other cool things that happened this week though…

CARTOON OF THE WEEK

“The Slippery Slope of Deconstruction”

We had a lot of fun with this one.

So many people related to it.

I point out that fear and fun can feel the same in your belly.

It’s a matter of perspective.

Deconstruction can be an adventure!

POST OF THE WEEK

A man kneels before a crucifix praying, "Please Lord, bring more people into your church!" Meanwhile, Jesus is standing with a crowd of LGBTQIA+ people and looking at his watch.

The good news is, "All are welcome!", not, "We're happy to show you all the requirements you have to meet before we let you in and fully participate."

Boy I had to stay busy moderating this one. The amount of hateful anti-LGBTQIA+ comments were astounding!

"Sacred Are These Spirits" Original Watercolor Painting.

If you've been in solitude in the nature for long enough you realize that you are not really absolutely alone and that everything is absolutely sacred. Everything. Including you!

This one’s still available too!

The Reason She Finally Left

I saw this video of a young woman explaining why she left her husband after so many years together.

She said her marriage to him was horrible. He was a narcissist and an abuser.

Their marriage lasted for some years. I’m not sure how many. But she suffered years of abuse and unhappiness.

Some of her friends and family probably wondered why she was staying with him.

But she shared what event made her snap.

She said they were at a restaurant with their friends. They were at the bar having drinks while they waited for their table. She had to go to the bathroom so she excused herself and said she’d be right back. When she got back, they had all gone to their table, including her husband. BUT… he’d left her drink at the bar.

That’s what made her snap. The selfishness and lack of care or concern for her. That one little misdeed was what did it for her.

She left him and divorced him.

Of course, it wasn’t just that incident. But for her it summarized what he thought of her. And it was over.

This story reminded me of so many people who leave the church and some people thing it’s for a trivial reason when in fact it’s literally the last straw. So much has built up to that point, but any small incident can be the one thing that breaks it.

And that’s totally legit!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Something for you writers out there or anyone who even posts on Facebook or other social media:

“In our world, quality content means content that is packed with clear utility and is brimming with inspiration, and it has relentless empathy for the audience…” (Ann Handley, Everybody Writes).

A FINAL NOTE

I hope you guys are finding peaceful moments in the storm.

I hope you’re finding love in the midst of so much turmoil and darkness.

I hope you’re finding hope in a world that often tries to kill it.

I love you all.

So good to hear from you when you respond.
